Porto

Walking in after 27km…ON TOP of one of the 6 bridges that cross the river Douro
Looking at the same bridge from below…
Sharing the weekend with Jordan and Pru…
We visited the town hall… Jordan likes his bag from Chu bakery in Perth…
And Porto has trams…all great cities do…don’t they?
And we saw tiles…

Porto is simply beautiful…we had no idea. All the better for having shared it with Jordan and Pru – we walked UP and DOWN and UP and UP… we ate fish, and Portuguese tarts and drank Vinho Verde and Port and watched a parade of local villagers and their brass bands and walked on top of and beneath bridges and caught a finicula when we couldn’t face the climb UP again…twice.

We would all come back in a flash…beautiful, sublime Porto – the photos just cant do the place justice.

  1. Your photographs continue to fascinate – particularly the defying gravity street art, the amazing product displays and the beautiful hydrangea reefs. It is also gratifying to see that, after all, the churches are displaying lots of gold leaf and bling. Porto seems to be the highlight of the pilgrimage thus far helped, I’m sure, by the visit of Jordan and Pru.

    1. Porto has been the saviour really of the walk – so beautiful and yes it was WONDERFUL to have Jordan and Pru join in for two days…
